Government Targets
The Government have set a target of 10% of electricity consumption by 2010 to come from renewable sources and 20% by 2020. The East Midlands contribution towards the targets are for 6.4% of electricity to be generated from renewables by 2010 and 23% by 2020. The figure achieved at present is 2%. Lilbourne Windfarm would help the region to reach these important targets.
